bang-sin (god of silver-grass), it's was name for ambassador in ancient China, then it became ghosts dominating grass and woods, when the name spread to Taiwan hundreds of years back, many other names were expanded, and mostly being called "mô-sîn-á".
Some says it's haunting spirits of children, women or dead alpinists, others says it's part of mountain's spirit. They lure people into the mountain by food, but those missing were found mouth and belly stuffed with mud, earthworms and grasshoppers.
